ILPC News: Call for Papers – Stockholm 27-29 March 2012. Submission deadline Oct. 31st, 2011

As announced the 2012 International Labour Process will take place at the University of Stockholm. The deadline for submissions of proposals for abstracts and symposia is 31st October 2011.

The second call for papers can be downloaded and gives details of the conference.  You may also download a conference poster that can be used for advertising the conference. Proposals for abstracts and symposia shall be submitted through the conference website www.ilpc.org.uk

The website now contains full details of the special streams that will supplement the general conference. These consist of:

-S1: Lean in ideology and practice: from labour process and societal effects perspectives

-S2: Putting labour in its place: The Global Commodity Chain, the Global Value Chain, the Global Production Network and Labour Process Analysis

-S3: Work or nature? The Effects of Climate Change on the Labour Process and the Responses of the Labour Movement in the Global South and the Global North

-S4: Global capitalism, national institutions and the comparative political economy of work and employment relations

We also hope to get in touch with (potential participants), so please visit and comment our ilpc2012 conference blog where you may find background information and now e.g. a clarificationabout papers, symposia and panels.

For those of you on facebook our event there (so far known only to some facebook friends). Members of the ISA International Sociological Association and its RC10, Research Committee on Participation, Organizational Democracy and Self-management, may want to use the RC10 wiki as a forum.

Åke Sandberg

BIO: Åke Sandberg is a researcher and author within work, management, IT and media. Holds an MBA from Gotenburg and PhD in sociology (Uppsala). Emertius professor at Stockholm University, earlier at KTH the Royal Institute of Technology (School of Computer Science and Communication, and Inst. of industrial management) and Arbetslivsinstitutet (the National Institute for Working Life, NIWL). This is my private blog, but of course I am drawing om what I learn in my research and work.

  1. Prorch provides free platform for posting CALL FOR PAPERS by conferences and journals. Several thousand journals and conferences posted their call for papers in first two months. Prorch broadcasts these call for papers to researchers who have opted to receive call for papers on monthly basis. Advertisement space is offered to journals and conferences at nominal prices.
